Book Tuesday: My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

By age thirteen Anna has gone through countless of surgeries and medical procedure so that her older sister Kate can have a fighting chance against leukemia that she has suffered from almost her whole life. Anna was genetically design to be a bone marrow match for her sister Kate. Anna has never question this role, her parents have impose on her until now.

Anna's questioning doesn't only affect her but her sister and her family as whole, especially when she makes a radical decision that surprises everybody. Anna hires lawyer Campbell Alexander who has a secret of his own. This decision prompts Anna's mother Sara to return to the profession she left behind. The relationship between mother and daughter becomes strain.

My Sister's Keeper is a compelling story about family and what is a family willing to do to save a child. It also brings to the discussion what are the limits of science.
